WAXHAW, NC – When Ken Posko isn’t working as the chef and owner of Provisions Waxhaw or spinning his wheels at his second business Pinky Out Skateboard Shop, he volunteers at the Waxhaw Volunteer Fire Department.
Five and a half years ago, as he was purchasing Provisions, he also joined WVFD as a volunteer firefighter, calling on his experience several years ago as a firefighter in the Navy. Deciding that he wanted to give back to the community where he lived and worked, Ken chose the WVFD as a logical choice.
As a chef, you would think that Ken’s favorite food would be something exotic. Instead, his favorite food is an excellent quality New York-style pizza. When he isn’t working or volunteering, Ken loves spending time with his family. Their favorite place to be together and vacation from their hectic daily lives is in Georgetown, SC.
In true jokester fashion, when asked if he couldn’t be a firefighter, what would he do, he answered, “Be a chef! Oh, I do that too!” If you have ever been in downtown Waxhaw chances are you have seen Ken within Provisions, Pinky Out, or in fire gear. His heart truly is one of the things that makes Waxhaw so unique.
