May 5th may be just another date on the calendar to some, but for those looking for a lively weekend, this year’s upcoming Cinco de Mayo will certainly offer some fun options! And what better way to commemorate Mexican-American culture than with a margarita and some chips and guacamole! Waxhaw mainstay, El Vallarta Mexican Restaurant, knows this better than most, as they are making plans to host their 15th annual Cinco de Mayo celebration next Friday and Saturday nights! That’s right, not one, but two nights of Mexican fanfare, to inspire the fiesta in us all!
Located in the Old Hickory Shopping Center at 1201 N. Broome Street, El Vallarta is gearing up for another banner holiday weekend, complete with live music and tons of food and drink specials! Diners can bask in, fingers-crossed, beautiful spring weather by taking a seat on their ample patio, and enjoying a bottomless basket of chips and salsa. Additionally, customers can purchase custom-made logo T-shirts for $10 each, along with classic Mexican piñatas, each selling for $30.
While Owner Eduardo Duron and his team are busy planning some new and different menu offerings for the weekend, he’s excited to, once again, provide a great time, locally, for old and new diners alike! “We always have lots of people that come in, and the holiday is kind of like an Independence Day for us, so we make a big thing to celebrate!”
Menu favorites like the Pollo con Crema – tender marinated chicken strips topped with their custom creamy sauce; their famed sizzling chicken, steak or shrimp fajitas served with Mexican rice and a choice of beans; and their always popular specialty tacos will be in heavy demand! As will their signature drinks like their $6 house lime margarita on the rocks with salt, and their jumbo house made sangria! For something extra festive, try their top shelf Patron margarita!
Festivities will begin on both Friday and Saturday nights at 4pm, and will go until 10:30pm. They don’t take reservations, so make sure you come early to get your choice of tables!
