“Here to help life go right” is the State Farm company motto. Staci (Waters) Howell, Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP), State Farm agent and owner of Waters Insurance and Financial Services Inc. has designed the Waxhaw State Farm office around building relationships with her customers that last a lifetime. Her mission is to “assist clients in understanding the risks and benefits involved with their financial and insurance planning choices while helping them to realize their goals and dreams”.
Staci (Waters) Howell first became acquainted with State Farm while interning for the company as she studied for her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing while living in Buffalo, NY. Flexible working hours and an encouraging work environment led Staci to pursue a career in the industry. After attaining her MBA, Ms. (Waters) Howell moved to Atlanta, GA, to join the State Farm Team.
In 2012 an opportunity arose within the company for Staci to move to Charlotte, as a sales representative at the State Farm office in the heart of downtown. Under the guidance of Head Agent Happy Mullen, Staci was encouraged to open her own agency in 2014. After an intensive interview process, Ms (Waters) Howell was approved to open an agency in Waxhaw in May of 2015. Staci chose Waxhaw as the site for the new State Farm office because the area had shown the highest growth ratio for businesses. The initial site was located in downtown Waxhaw on Broome Street but has since moved to its new location at 8145C Kensington Drive, in the Cureton Shopping Center near Harris Teeter.
Staci’s goal as an agent is to help clients truly understand why certain financial decisions and insurance policies are crucial. She aims to help customers understand the “why” behind having insurance, not just because it is mandatory. She found that many customers had chosen policies based on what family or friends had purchased, and had not looked at insurance as a personal choice. She strives to find each customer the best fit for their financial needs. By taking the time to understand each client’s unique financial situation, Ms. (Waters) Howell is better able to determine the types and limits of insurances that would be the best fit. Staci takes great pride in building lasting relationships with clients. These close ties help her to assist customers in making the best possible decisions for themselves, their families, and their businesses. Insurance isn’t a one size fits all commodity. There are specific policies that make sense for each, family, and business situation.
The Waxhaw State Farm location believes in the company-wide tradition of community involvement. The “Quotes for Good” initiative allows State Farm agents to choose local non-profits to partner with on social media. The non-profits are rotated every month. State Farm endeavors not only to assist each non-profit financially but also to become educated on each one’s primary mission and in turn help to spread awareness of that mission to the public. For every quote that is requested at State Farm that mentions the social media campaign, the agency will donate to the non-profit for that month. State Farm also partners with local vendors that in turn match the State Farm donations, increasing the financial contributions two-fold. State Farm also matches educational grants for its agents. For May, the non-profit will be the Community Shelter of Union County.
