Three years strong, Saveeda’s American Bistro has quickly become a local favorite, consistently ranked as the number one restaurant among the Tri-W area via Yelp, Google and Facebook.
For owner and head chef, Lincoln Sveda, Saveeda’s is truly a labor of love. Sveda has spent a lifetime working in the restaurant business, most notably McCormick and Scmickk’s and Chequrs Seafood Grill, both out of the Atlanta market. Additionally, he’s served as head chef to open several other restaurants with similar concepts, from Florida to Charlotte, focusing on fresh seafood in an upscale and casual environment.
It’s that upscale and casual dining experience that he has carried over into his first and very own endeavor, Saveeda’s American Bistro. And yes, if you’re wondering, Saveeda’s is the phonetically correct spelling of Sveda. Situated right on the edge of an affluent area, in the heart of Wesley Chapel at 5922 Weddington Road, Saveeda’s is like nothing else in the area, which mostly caters to fast casual or fast food dining options.
In addition to the ambiance, Sveda prides his restaurant as being chef-driven and locally owned. Offering an extensive wine list, handcrafted cocktails, and daily chef features using local ingredients whenever possible, “Saveeda’s is a full, 100-percent-from-scratch kitchen,” exclaims Sveda.
He developed the menu, and along with his executive, full-time chef Jackie Davis, they coordinate menu changes and create memorable recipes for their appreciative customers.
“We have such a loyal following, it’s awesome,” says Sveda. “We see the same people, sometimes 3-4 nights a week!”
There’s always something new on the menu to try, but favorites include the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes that are heavy on the crab, light on the breading, oven baked and served with a truly unique miso slaw, unlike anything you’ve ever had before. Also, and not all that surprisingly, their Grilled Chicken & Mushroom Pimento Mac & Cheese continues to be a best-seller, because…well…pimento mac & cheese! Other favorites include the Seared Sea Scallops and the Parmesan Garlic Fries that are nothing short of a treat for the taste buds!
Open Monday-Friday for lunch and dinner, Saturday dinner and Sunday brunch, there’s always something new to try. And to entice weeknight diners, Saveeda’s offers a theme for each night. Mondays is BYOB with no corking fee; Tuesdays is $6 cocktails and martinis to include even their top shelf drinks; Wednesdays is $3 beers (i.e., drafts, local crafts, and bottles); and Thursdays is half price bottle of wine.
And if wine is your thing, make sure to check out their 4-course wine dinners offered periodically throughout the year. The next one is coming up on November 11th, and features five glasses of wine, four of which are paired with a designated, full-portion dish designed to bring out the best of both, for a cost of $75/person. In keeping with their tradition, all the dishes will be seasonal and there’s a high probability that one could expect the seasonal favorite, butternut squash bisque! So reserve your spot now!
