CHARLOTTE – What current design trends are here to stay?

If you’re looking to add a personal touch and enjoy the current design trends, the best best way to do this is by selecting a mirror, faucet, and shower fixture as your statement pieces. These items are the easiest (and cheapest) items to replace over the years, and offer the best design bang-for-your-buck, so go ahead, get that ultra-modern rain shower head you’ve been eyeing. While tile is expensive and difficult to replace, a mirror, faucet, and shower fixture can be swapped out by the average homeowner.

By and far, the most popular trend in bathroom renovations is matte black or brushed gold hardware. These bold colors set your new bathroom apart from the brushed nickel, chrome, and brass bathrooms of the 80’s, 90’s and 00’s. Matte Black hardware and fixtures work to put a modern, refined touch on any design they are applied to and work as a great contrast to a bright, light bathroom. Brushed gold is a warm, deep color with a vintage feel, that really pops when combined with classic subway tile and a modern, rich, paint color.  Both Matte Black and Brushed Gold look just as “at home” on a vintage clawfoot tub as they do on a modern glass walk in shower.
