Divorce Workshop for Women

Share this:

Second Saturday is a workshop that provides information to attendees regarding the process of divorce. Second Saturday was founded in 1988 by the non-profit WIFE.org, the Women’s Institute for Financial Education. These workshops are held at various locations throughout the country, and while the workshops can be held on any day of the week, the “Second Saturday” name remains. Cox Law Firm has partnered with the non-profit group WIFE.org to present Second Saturday Divorce Workshops in Union County—but ours will be held on Friday mornings.

Second Saturday deals with the legal, financial, family, and personal issues of divorce in a logical yet compassionate way. With the guidance of trained professionals, workshop participants gain a greater understanding of the confusing and challenging divorce process. Second Saturday’s belief is that the more information and support women have, the better the decisions they’ll make for themselves and their children, and the more hopeful they can be about the future.

Our first workshop is on Friday, November 15, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will be held at Saint Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Waxhaw, North Carolina. (8515 Rea Rd Waxhaw, NC 28173). The cost to attend is $20.00 per person. What can you expect?    Attendees will hear from three speakers that day: a divorce attorney, a therapist, and a divorce financial analyst. For the November workshop, the speakers will be Melanie Cox from Cox Law Firm, Sherry Smith, and Barbara Bell. Sherry Smith is a divorce coach and therapist at Divorce Resiliency Counseling & Coaching. Barbara Bell is a divorce financial analyst with Bell Divorce Advisors.

Our mission is to provide education, support, and guidance to women in this life transition, helping them move confidently towards independence.
