Family Story Time will be held at the Mint Hill Library at 11:15 a.m.



Friday, May 24

An Active Reading Workshop will be held at the Mint Hill Library at 10 a.m. Parents and children can learn fun ideas and activities to support early literacy at home. Registration is required for this four part workshop series.

Mint Hill Madness will be held Friday, May 24 through Sunday, May 26. The festival includes carnival rides, games, boardwalk-style foods, and arts/craft vendors. Festival hours are: Friday 4-11 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday 12-6 p.m.

Bring a lawn chair or blanket to Stumptown Park in downtown Matthews for “Food Truck Friday.” The event is held on second and fourth Fridays, April through September, from 5-9 pm. The event features food and dessert trucks, music and bounce houses. Tonight’s concert will feature Terence Young. Saturday, May 25

Family Story Time will be held at the Mint Hill Library at 9:30 a.m.

The annual All-American Mint Hill Madness Parade will begin at 9 a.m. The parade will feature more than 50 local businesses, organizations, entertainers, marching bands, firetrucks and classic cars. Best seating for the parade is near Town Hall. Mint Hill Madness festival hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The All-American Fireworks Extravaganza will begin at 10 p.m.

Sunday, May 26

Tuesday, May 28

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Baby Story Time for babies birth through 17 months will be held at 10:15 a.m.

Tiny Tots Story Time for toddlers ages 18 to 23 months will be held at 11:15 a.m.

Wednesday, May 29

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Two Time Story Time for toddlers age 24 to 36 months will be held at 10:15 a.m.

Preschool Story Time for children age 3 to 5 will be held at 11:15 a.m.

The Bechtler Art Workshop for Kids will be held at 3:30 p.m. This four-day collaborative class is open to everyone and taught by a professional artist. This art piece will be collaboratively designed and constructed by the community and installed as a permanent piece of art at the library. Registration is required.
