WAXHAW, NC – We’re spending so much time in our homes and noticing the things we’ve always wanted to change but maybe never got around to it. Something you may look at multiple times a day in your kitchen could be your backsplash–and it’s one of the fastest ways to freshen up the look of your kitchen.
When considering a new backsplash, your contractor takes into account the measurements, outlets and switches, corners, and the type of tile and design you want to be installed. Not all tiles–and tile installations–are equal. A basic porcelain tile installed straight will be less complicated, and therefore less expensive to install than a marble tile installed in a herringbone pattern. When working with a contractor, let them know what your backsplash dreams are, as well as your real budget.
If your backsplash design and tile preference are high-end, but your budget is on the lower side, your contractor can help suggest tile and design alternatives. You may need to lower your expectations, but in the end, you will have a fresher look in your kitchen at a price point you’re comfortable with.
When getting an estimate, let your contractor know what tile material you plan to use and what design or pattern you’d like. These two important items will factor into the estimate. Your tile contractor should be very knowledgeable about tiles and grout and should recommend the best options for your project.
