WAXHAW, NC – As a home remodeling professional, our job might seem simple: show up, create an estimate, start working, make it look good. But in reality, a contractor’s role goes deeper than that. My goal is to improve my client’s quality of life.
In some cases, that might be as simple as designing and installing a pretty backsplash that my client will love. But more often than not, the job we do in people’s homes goes deeper.
We recently completed a home with an uneven floor. If I were just to install tile, the floor would look pretty but would still be hazardous. So I spent time prepping the subfloor, levelling the entire kitchen and hallway to ensure evenness and smooth transitions before doing the gorgeous tile work. This made it easier for my elderly client to move around–no more sloping or bumping to trip her up!
Another example of improving quality of life is in a recent shower project. The home was just a year old, the shower installed by the builder. But the shower floor wasn’t sloped properly. My client would sweep water towards their drain every time they showered! What a hassle! We spent the time to prep and slope the shower and now my client can shower stress-free without standing in a puddle of water!
So you see, a home remodel is more than just making things look good. Done right, it can drastically improve your quality of life! Have questions? Visit tileandhome.com or email me at MrTileNC@gmail.com.
