Barbados 2022- Part 5

CHARLOTTE – We had breakfast in one of two places. First was the American Tavern. Every morning they serve everything and anything one could want for breakfast. Most is buffet style, but there is a Hot Station where they will cook your eggs to order, including some very fine omelets. Another morning we chose to eat at la Parisienne, where the menu was full table service with white linens. They served everything, but the specialty was the pancakes and French Toast.

Lunch every day was available from a variety of venues, including a great place called “Jerk Shack”, where they served the best Jerk Chicken ever. There was a Pizza stand, of course, along with several sit-down venues.

HINT: Every venue at Sandals is available as casual, with cover-ups suggested, during the day. At night there are an equal number of sport casual, and evening casual dining venues. At sports casual, they suggest shit and pants or shorts for men and blouse and pants, shorts, for women. At the Evening Casual, they suggest shirts with sleeves and pants ( dress shorts) for men, and slacks, dresses for women. Despite reducing the requirement to “dress up” for dinner at Sandals, we found most people dressed very nicely / smartly, for dinner at the evening casual venues.

Drinks were always available all over the resort. We found a pool bar that had 5 “Flavors” of Vodka, as well as some top-shelf liquors available. Some of the finer cognacs and aperitifs were found at the dining venues and adjacent bars. There are never any upcharges for top-shelf drinks. Wines were Robert Mondalvi, and were excellent. There were varieties at each bar, as well as in room.

HINT: Ask the bartenders to mix a special drink to your liking. We found a pool bartender who made a concoction of 3 different vodkas, fruit, and club soda, which surely satisfied our need for a nonbubbly, nonsweet drink that tasted so good.
