Paris And Wine Country- Part 7

CHARLOTTE – The local cathedral was amazing, and we enjoyed some more Burgundy wines and Cheeses. Back on board tonight, our Happy Hour included some tasty refreshments as well as some different wines. Tonight’s dinner was a gastronomic delight. Just ask and we will share the menus we enjoyed on board. Entertainment tonight was a “Gypsy Band arranged by our Cruise Director. A great night’s rest accompanied by wonderful River Views and Locks was just what the Doctor ordered.

Day 7 took us to Tournon. This is home to La Hermitage as it is well known to avid readers. It is a 16th Century city among ancient Roman Ruins dating back to 500 years BC. It is a walled city surrounded by Granite Slopes and Vineyards, and we had a very good time just walking around and meeting with the vendors and citizens. We were back on board for lunch and sailing on to Viviers. Our stop in Viviers left us time to roam the Old City and it’s Cathedral. The Medieval nature of this charming village leaves little to the imagination. We really enjoyed learning about the history of this city and the surrounding Castles and Vineyards. Another wonderful night of music on board and another meal with our now favorite Dining Crew.
