CHARLOTTE – From there we were met by a Sandals ambassador who took our suitcases and gave us a receipt and showed us to the lounge. A drink, snack, and 15 minutes and we were directed to our Sandals minibus and the last confirmation of our luggage. Sandals assigned 8 people on a 15 person van. 1 hour 15minutes on typical Jamaica mountain roads including a pit stop and we were at South CoastCool towel and luggage check and on to Club Sandals Lounge, a comfortable private lounge with snacks, drinks, champagne, and lots of concierge services. 15 minutes here where we got our room key and our host took us to our room. We are beachfront in the Italian Village, with a walkout room and small patio. Just 5 manly steps to the sand. Queen-sized four-poster bed with a 9 drawer chest and a refrigerator stocked with 5 different liquors, 2 Mondavi wines, juice beer, and soda. Our host made sure we knew where everything was and how to work it. We had a spacious bathroom with lots of storage and a fresh dish of chocolate covered fruits, a welcome letter, and a display of how they’re conducting the extra clean of all surfaces. We ordered our favorite beverages to be stocked in the room.
Next, we were off to explore on our own.
That evening we enjoyed a Beach Get Together with drinks and snacks and the best vocalist I have heard. Next a Fire Eater show on the beach and then dinner at Neptune Restaurant on the beach. Great menu. Barbara had Caesar’s salad and Maryland Crab. I had seafood soup and the special of the house lamb Stew. It was great. We were exhausted so a short tour of all the restaurants, a rest period in a private overwater cabana, then to our room for an early night. The hardest thing we have to do is choose from the restaurants. They are all outstanding and included and choosing which wine or mixed drink or beers we should drink is another hard task because of the large choice. Tough work but someone has to do it.
