CHARLOTTE – We arrived in Barbados 20 minutes late. We had studied all the travel requirements. We had the CovidTest within 7 days, filled out the Barbados Visitor form, and had everything neatly arranged and printed as we ask all our clients to do. We got thru immigration and health screening easy. All in all, it was a good experience. We just had to keep reminding ourselves, as we always do, we were on Island Time. From there we were met by a Sandals ambassador who took our suitcases and gave us a receipt and showed us to the lounge. A drink, snack, and 20 minutes later we were directed to our Sandals minibus and the last confirmation of our luggage. Sandals assigned 8 people on a 15 person van. 15 to 20 minutes in urban St Lawrence Gap and we arrived at our Resort on Dover Beach. This resort has won numerous awards, most recently Caribbean’s Leading Resort 5 years in a row, Star Diamond Award overall BestDining Butches Chop House and Bombay Club Restaurant, World Spa Award Best Spa Resort 4 years in a row. The resort is unique where there are actually 2 resorts in one. Sandals Barbados is the original luxury resort and the new Sandals Royal Barbados completed just a few years ago. With a Cool towel and luggage check, we were on to Club Sandals Lounge, a comfortable private lounge with snacks, drinks, champagne, and lots of concierge services. 15 minutes there where we got our room key and our host took us to our room. We are front and center, with a swim-out Butler Suite room and outstanding location. Just a few steps to the Center Pool and Lounge Area of Seaside Village. As is typical of Sandals, we had a Queen-sized four-poster bed with a 9 drawer chest and a refrigerator stocked with 5 different liquors, 2 Mondavi wines, juice beer, and soda.
