“One Piece at a Time” – Johnny Cash

I had quite the surprise this past week. Early one morning I received a picture on my phone from one of my employees, Mr. Ed Lynch. It showed my limo, sans the rear bumper. At first I thought Ed was playing a joke and had digitally photographed the car and removed the bumper in Photoshop. But then I remembered Ed’s technical skills with the computer and realized he probably didn’t do that. When I then received photos of a hearse I had for sale missing the front bumper and chrome bits from the side, I knew it was no joke. Per our security cameras, a group of, um, “individuals” visited my funeral home at 3:30 AM and stole parts off the limo and hearse.

I guess when you have classics, parts are hard to find.

Like Johnny Cash, they were after parts. So by now you may be asking, “what does this have to do with me?” Well, I see many people today who plan in “parts”. They purchase life insurance but make no will. They put together a health care power of attorney without doing advance directives. They tell their family what to do in the event of their death without completing the plans. There are MANY parts to proper planning of retirement, aging and your estate. Don’t just do it piece by piece and wait to another day to finish. Find out how easy it is to build a complete plan and call us today. Unlike the individuals who took my car parts, my staff and I specialize in providing you the WHOLE plan so you can focus on living, laughing and loving.

Oh, and for the record, the rest of my fleet was untouched, and ironically I have my new hearse due to arrive in a couple of weeks. Like planning for life, I planned for this contingency and because I did, it is business as usual. Until next week, take care.
