CHARLOTTE – Here at Passionate Paws Animal Hospital, our team members strive to provide a great experience from the moment you step in the door. This week, we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Gilmartin, one of our awesome new veterinarians:

“I always wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as I can remember. I started working at my parents’ friends’ clinic when I was in middle school and into high school. However, my high school guidance counselor advised that vet school was so competitive and steered me in a different direction. When I went to college, I got a business degree in marketing, transportation, and logistics.

I worked in the business world in New York City for a few years after graduating. I was working in the World Trade Tower, but on the weekends, I was actually volunteering at the Central Park Zoo. Eventually, it was painful to go to my paying job on Mondays, as I just wanted to be at the zoo.  So, I quit my job and started taking classes to get my requirements for vet school. I applied and was accepted!

I have a special interest in the areas of dentistry and geriatric medicine. I’m also very passionate about fostering a good relationship with pet parents so that we can work together to do what’s best for their four-legged children. I just love working at Passionate Paws! It’s truly a unique animal hospital that focuses on fur babies, fostering a good relationship with pet parents and a great quality of life for all team members.”

Passionate Paws Animal Hospital is a proud member of the Union County Chamber of Commerce and the Waxhaw Business Association.
