Mike and Renee Holliday are the husband and wife team behind Waxhaw’s beloved Crossroads Coffee that serves coffee varietals from different countries and continents including Africa, South America, and Indonesia. When Mike couldn’t find anywhere in the local area that would allow him to smoke his cigar and enjoy a cup of coffee, the Holliday’s opened Crossroad’s Coffee.

Crossroads Coffee has been serving coffee since 1999, they didn’t start doing their own roasting until 2012. They have been roasting their coffee in 6 kilo batches but recently acquired a 24 kilo roaster which will allow them to increase production and have more offerings available. While their coffees are available at their store in Waxhaw, they are also one of the local vendors with products for sale at Provisions Waxhaw.

Provisions Waxhaw and Crossroads Coffee have a wonderful relationship. Mike explains that having his whole bean coffee for sale in Provisions has been great for Crossroad’s Coffee since it gives them an outlet to reach customers who might not have time to stop at the shop. And the Holliday’s purchase ingredients from Provisions including sugar in the raw and the nuts and coconut that they use in their flavored coffees from Provisions. The flavored coffees including Toasted Almond and Toasted Coconut use real nuts and coconut flakes. Mike knew Lisa Vigil (co-owner of Provisions) from her previous job as a manager of a local restaurant and was excited to welcome her back when she and Ken Posko took over Provisions this summer. Mike says, “They [Lisa and Ken] are doing a good job with the business and are staying busy.”
