Don’t let the name Ogre Sauce fool you! This craft BBQ sauce is a family recipe for Mike “Ogre” Weeks. One day while making some BBQ with his grandfather, he found his grandmother’s BBQ sauce recipe. It was so good that a few weeks later, he whipped up another batch for a family gathering. From there, it slowly became a family tradition, even being served at his wedding.
He partnered with Mike Vagianos to figure out how to get it bottled and sold. Ribs, Chicken, Salmon, and even scrambled eggs all pair well with Ogre Sauce.
But Weeks and Vagianos don’t stop there. Red beans and rice, Ogre Bombs (vidalia onions slathered in sauce and cooked on the grill), brussel sprouts, and Bloody Mary’s prove its “not just a bbq sauce, its a condiment.” Made with no high fructose corn syrup, no colors or dyes, and no preservatives, Ogre Sauce is available at several places through out the Charlotte Metro Area. But you don’t have to travel far from home to get it since it is available at Provisions Waxhaw. “Being in that store has opened us up to an entire market of the Charlotte Metro area as a place to not only taste the sauce in the restaurant, but then buy it on the shelf. It has been great for us.”
