CHARLOTTE – Thanksgiving, the traditional start of the holiday shopping calendar, is nearing. At the time of this writing, the Christmas show has been canceled and local malls are not offering Santa pictures this year. Â So what are your options to keep Santa in your 2020 holiday plans?
While the pandemic won’t keep Santa Claus from making appearances, things may look a little different in order to abide by Covid restrictions.  This year watch for in-person, virtual, and even outdoor options to visit with Santa.
Extra precautions are being made to ensure safety is the number one goal for parents, children, and Santa! Interactive in-person experiences can be limited in the number of sessions and spread out to have time to sanitize between clients.  Sets can be designed with social distancing in mind. Some photographers have gotten creative, superimposing Santa in family photos.  As far as the big guy himself, don’t be surprised to see a masked Santa or one without his white gloves, all just added precautions to stay healthy.
New this year, we find Virtual Video Chat experiences being offered. Â Your child can engage with Santa via Zoom on a computer or cell phone where they can personally chat, enjoy a Christmas story, and maybe even sing a toon with Santa.
