Lauren Benjamin did something a lot of moms would love to do. She put her career on hold to raise her family, and in doing so, she discovered a new passion that allows her to balance it all. With a bit of research, a lot of creativity, and a desire to work from home, she created her own business.
Originally from Charlotte, Lauren moved to the DC area to work as a financial analyst for Dell. After having children and becoming a little homesick, she decided to move back to the Waxhaw area and is loving her decision. Now, while her kids are napping, or when she has some “mommy time,” she creates beautiful designs on wine glasses, Yeti cups, mugs, and platters.

“I needed a creative outlet that would get me out so I started Uniquely Me NC. I use a lot of vinyl decals, but do a lot of painting and glitter on stems. I’m now working on etching and sublimation, a print process that creates durable, lasting designs on a variety of products.”
Funny sayings, memorable quotes, and monograms are the perfect addition to any glass, cup, or mug. Whether you are looking for a personalized gift, a wedding favor, or something fun for yourself, Lauren can make it. She has lots of ideas but loves to make custom pieces too.
After a busy December creating over 1,600 pieces, Lauren can handle a large volume of orders with a quick turnaround. Sometimes she gets up at 3:00 A.M. to complete orders when the house is quiet, and other times she works throughout the day.
When asked what sets her apart from the rest, Lauren said, “I’m very customer-service focused. It is very important to me that my customers are extremely happy.” To snatch up one of Lauren’s glasses or other designs, you can stop into Shabby Chic in Waxhaw, or contact her directly for more options at Uniquely Me NC on Facebook.
