Trevor Grant – Made a significant contribution to the Cavaliers recent 16-15 win over Monroe. Grant hauled in 4 catches for 51 yards and had the game tying touchdown. He was also named the Player of the Week in Union County High School Football News.
Marvin Ridge Mavericks
Football:
Jake Cameron – The senior QB was 17-20 for 319 yards and two touchdowns in the Mavericks big conference 38-0 shutout win over Cuthbertson.
Ian Hutter – The wide receiver caught eight passes for 195 yards and a touchdown in the game against the Cavaliers.
Sean Brown – The senior had seven pass receptions for 102 yards and added a touchdown in the big SCC win. The TD is his 11th of the season for the Mavericks.
Steven Gonzalez – The running back rushed for 70 yards and scored two touchdowns for the Mavericks.
Honorable Mention: Mavericks Running back Caleb Woodley added a touchdown and had 15 yards rushing. The TD is his 9th rushing to pay dirt for the season.
Sun Valley Spartans
Football:
Sam Howell – The senior QB just continues to dominate and lead the Spartans. Against tough competition he had a combined 4 touchdowns to inspire his teammates to a 25-20 victory. He threw for three passing TD’s and rushed a 19 yard keeper for another score.
Isiah Hall – The senior wide receiver caught six passes including two touchdown tosses while accumulating 162 yards for the Spartans. One TD was a 90 yard catch and run. Hall now has 9 TD catches on the season.
Gavin Blackwell – The sophomore who is having a solid year caught his 12th touchdown pass of the season on a 14 yard reception.
Weddington Warriors

James Shipley – The senior returned two punts for touchdowns and caught a TD pass in the Warriors shutout win over Parkwood.
Whitner Litton – Last weeks Tri-W-News “Player of the Week” finished the night 9 of 10 for 190 yards and two touchdowns.
Max Brimigion – The senior wide receiver caught three passes for 99 yards making a significant contribution to the win.
Honorable Mention: Senior Wayne Dixie rushed for a touchdown, sophomores Will Shipley and Jackson McClain each scored two rushing touchdowns in the 49-0 win.
