
Cuthbertson Cavaliers
Baseball:
Gordon Soffel – The senior baseball player and pitcher committed to Erskine College. he threw 15 innings a season ago and stuck out 16 batters with a 2.80 ERA. He is expected to be a key arm this Spring for the Cavaliers.
Cross Country:
Madeline Hill – The sophomore runner won the 3.1 mile race with a 18:11.52 winning time for the Cavaliers.
Leah Helms – Another sophomore runner for the talented cavaliers Cross Country team finished third with a time of 18:19.22.
Marvin Ridge Mavericks
Football:
Ian Hutter – The sophomore scored a 67 yard touchdown and rushed for 11 yards on a single carry for the Mavericks. He caught 7 passes for 91 yards in the game.
Jason Stricker – The Mavericks kicker connected on a 49 yard field goal in the fourth quarter with 11:08 remaining on the game clock to keep his team in contention.
Matthew Wunder – The Mavericks QB completed 10-15 passes for 180 yards while rushing for another 9 yards in the loss.
Parkwood Rebels
Baseball:
Owen Hartley – The senior will attend Wingate University and compete in baseball after graduation in 2019. As a pitcher he had a 7-7 record on the mound with an ERA 2.36 keeping the Rebels in ballgames.
Sun Valley Spartans
Football:
Sam Howell – The senior had another stellar performance in the Spartans 24-17 win over Marvin Ridge. He completed 17-25 passes for 222 yards through the air and rushed for another 159 yards on 15 carries for a total of 381 all-purpose yards.
Deuce Wilson – he rushed for 70 yards on 13 carries and caught 4 passes totaling 67 yards for the Spartans in their win on the road.
Gavin Blackwell- The wide receiver grabbed 6 receptions for 88 yards in the Spartans victory on Friday night. Blackwell has accumulated 1089 yards on 46 receptions with 18 touchdowns this season.
Weddington Warriors
Football:
Whitner Litton – The senior Warrior QB completed 101/167 passes for 1553 yards and 16 touchdowns through the air this season to date prior to the playoffs. He missed three games this season which lowered his regular season results.
Max Brimigion – The senior Wide receiver was selected last weeks Featured Player of the Week accumulated 898 yards on 45 receptions with 8 touchdowns finishing the season strong.
Will Shipley – The sophomore running back accumulated 950 yards on the ground with 139 attempts averaging 6.8 yards per carry and 12 touchdowns for the Warriors.
