Cuthbertson Cavaliers 

Girls Basketball: 



Maddie Dillinger – The young sophomore continues to lead the Lady Cavaliers by scoring 19 points, grabbing 6 rebounds, 4 steals and 4 blocks against the Rebels.  She also led with 16 points, grabbed 11 rebounds for the double double along with 4 blocks in the win against Monroe.

Lauryn Hardiman – The junior who is averaging 11.4 points per game and 5 rebounds, remained a consistent contributor scoring 10 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals against the Lady Redhawks.

Marvin Ridge Mavericks 

Basketball: 

Christian Peterson scored 19 points, Garrett Bonhannan 15 points, and James MonK 11 points in the Mavericks two point loss to Sun Valley.

Parkwood Rebels: 

Wrestling: 

Amber Parker – This young lady wrestler made county history by winning a State Wrestling Championship this past weekend.  She is also an accomplished athlete and has a Division 1 scholarship to play softball.  She is also our Featured Athlete of the Week.

Porter Ridge Pirates 

Basketball: 

Cameron Stitt – The big senior scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the double-double in their loss to powerful Southwestern 4A  opponent Independence.

Isaiah Williams – The freshman had another solid game with 17 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block for the Pirates against the Patriots.

Sun Valley Spartans

Basketball: 

Dorian Shinhoster – The senior scored 19 points, hauled down 10 rebounds for a double-double.  He also had 1 assist, 5 steals and i blocked shot in the win over Marvin Ridge.

Honorable Mention: Michael Grovanz added 14 points and 4 rebounds, Justin Morton 11 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals, Raheem Howard 13 points and 6 rebounds in their conference victory.

Wrestling:

Jack Wilton – The 182 pound senior (24-4) was one of three wrestlers from Union County to qualify for the North Carolina State Championships.  Wilton lost the match for third place in his weight class.

Weddington Warriors

Basketball:  

Chase Lowe – The outstanding freshman continues to have double-doubles for the Warriors.  He scored 19 points, grabbed 18 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals in their loss to Marvin Ridge.

Honorable Mention: Wayne Dixie scored 14 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and had 3 steals for the Warriors.  Jared Applegate contributed 12 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist in the basketball game.

Wrestling: 

Joe Zovistoski – The Warrior scrapper who has a 33-2 record lost in the finals for 2nd place in the 182 pound class at the North Carolina State Championships.
