This week we interviewed Chamber President, Pat Kahle.

How long have you worked with YOUR Chamber and what do you do?

I joined the Chamber Team in September 2013. Prior to joining the Chamber staff, I served on the Chamber Board of Directors for about eight years and as Board Chair in 2010. I’m president of the Chamber which means I get to work daily with the Chamber staff, volunteers, and Board of Directors to serve our businesses who create jobs, support infrastructure, and enhance the quality of life for our residents.

What’s your favorite thing about working at YOUR Chamber?

I can’t possibly choose one thing – I love the variety (every day is different), I love the opportunity to serve our community, and I love working with people who want to succeed and are willing to work hard to make it happen. I also love bringing people together to work on common problems or creative ideas. I have the best job ever!

What do you love about Union County?

I LOVE the people. Union County has been one of the fastest growing counties in NC for years. Yet, Union County maintains a sense of community. Union County residents genuinely care for each other. When our neighbors celebrate, we celebrate with them. And when our neighbors are hurting, this community rallies around those in need. I can’t imagine a better place to live, work, and do business.

What is your favorite thing to do when you’re not at work?

I love to spend time at the lake. I enjoy the work I do immensely, so I work hard. In my downtime, I love to relax at the lake. There is nothing as relaxing as listening to the waves, feet propped up, reading a good book and enjoying a cold beverage.

Tell us one interesting fact about you.

I am the epitome of boring – I’ve lived in the same house for over 34 years, been married to the same man for almost 40 years and gone to the same hair stylist for over 30 years. I guess you could say when I find something that works for me, I stick with it.
