Minority Business Makeover Contest
The Union County Chamber and the Small Business Center at South Piedmont Community College collaborated to host the Union County Minority Business Makeover Contest. The winner, chosen by an independent selection committee, will receive 50 hours of consulting services for their business, along with advertising and promotional opportunities.
We are proud to announce the winner: Perfect Fit Cleaning Services, LLC.
It was an honor to partner with the Small Business Center at SPCC on this effort to champion business growth and prosperity throughout Union County.
Middle School Speakers Bureau Returns
As part of the Workforce Development Taskforce, the Middle School Speakers Bureau is returning to local schools this year. Professionals in manufacturing and trades organizations spend a day in Union County Public Schools, sharing hands-on presentations with middle school students about career opportunities in those fields. Training for those presentations took place January 25, 2022 at the Chamber. The first day in the schools was in February and was met with rave reviews from the students.
2022 Leadership Union Class Kicks Off the Year
Leadership Union is a leadership development program that offers participants the opportunity to meet community and civic leaders, explore key issues impacting our region, establish quality business contacts, and develop lasting friendships. The mission is to develop and foster leaders in Union County – providing education about community strengths and opportunities, and to encourage community stewardship. Participants meet for 10 sessions throughout the year and each session details a different aspect of our community. We’re excited to have this year’s class class sessions in person. So far, the group has met for a Leadership Retreat, Union County Day, and Nonprofit Day.
