WAXHAW, NC – On Tuesday, August 2, the 4th annual session of the Toastmasters Youth Leadership Conference finished up. It featured speeches from Tom Grimm (Sergeant at Arms of Toastmasters Of Waxhaw), Officer Kevin Gasser of the Waxhaw Police Department, and several youth participants, all of whom spoke about how to be better at public speaking and why it matters. After the initial speakers, the groups were divided into age groups: 8-11, 11-14, and 15-18. These groups worked on prepared speeches, constructive feedback, and table topics.
Grimm wanted to take a moment to acknowledge and thank all of the Toastmasters members who assisted this year: “Our team is Aaron Brown, Noelle Grimm, Jim Pohlig, Robert Mapstead, Sam Brown, Renee Veltri, Albania Hernandez, Carson Brown, and Sam Padgett. And special thanks to Five Stones Church in Waxhaw.” Thank you all!
