WAXHAW, NC – The Waxhaw Volunteer Fire Dept and Rescue Squad wishes to thank the Waxhaw community and several local businesses, that came together to feed us and offered fellowship during the time of Captain Ron McGarvey’s passing.
There are not enough words to express our appreciation to our local businesses: Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Maxwells, Queens South, Provisions, Trax Stop and Shop, and Waxhaw Athletic Association. They nourished us and the McGarvey family over several days.
Our neighboring fire departments: Monroe, Wesley Chapel, Unionville, Beaver Lane, Indian land, Stallings, Pineville, Pleasant Valley, Concord, Huntersville, Hembry Bridge, Wingate, and Monroe CSI provided coverage to the community that helped maintain our station and supported all of our staff.
We had numerous community members drop off goodies. The kindness and willingness to help and reach out to us were overwhelming. A very heartfelt thank you does not seem quite enough.
The Waxhaw Fire Department Auxiliary team responded with home-cooked meals, shopping, and serving tirelessly those meals to our members and surrounding fire departments.
The Town of Waxhaw is fortunate to have so many wonderful people in its community that stepped up to take care of each other.
