The well loved Autumn Treasures Festival is coming back to downtown Waxhaw on Saturday, October 12 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday October 13 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. This two day, annual festival brings the best of the TriW area and the Carolinas to the streets of Waxhaw. Local crafters, artisans, musicians, and cooks will take over the town and draw visitors from near and far while the Kids Zone will feature carnival rides, a petting zoo, inflatables, kids crafts, and a children’s entertainment stage under the water tower.
The Grill’n & Chill’n BBQ Cook-off will showcase over 30 professional teams as they compete for money and titles. Judges from the KCBS (Kansas City Barbeque Society) will be on hand to decide the winners of the four categories: chicken, pork ribs, pork shoulder / butt, and beef brisket. Teams will begin setting up on Friday, October 11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the public tasting taking place on Saturday afternoon from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Winners of the public tasting and the judges winners will be announced at 5 p.m.
This event will close Main St in Waxhaw, so be prepared for delays driving through town. Offsite event parking is available and free shuttles will be provided. Please note that dogs and other pets are not allowed, except for service animals.
