WAXHAW, NC – On Sunday, June 12, the Bill Kennelly Memorial Scholarship presented awards and hosted a classic car Cruise-In!  Three scholarships were awarded: Charli Montalvo for the Police Department, Aaron Bowman for the Fire Department, and Sarah Valentine for Cuthbertson High School.

They also hosted a fundraiser for the Waxhaw Police Department that found Officer Vic Montalvo of the Waxhaw PD, Hans Speck Waxhaw Fire Department Asst. Chief, and the “Car Guys” Allen Connor and Kevin Arndt in handcuffs.

Donna Kennelly shares, “No one got out of cuffs alone, but together they reached the goal of $2,350.  They actually raised $2,876.21!  Thank you to the good sports that volunteered to be locked up!  Thank you also to McLaren of Charlotte, our Gold Sponsor, along with Haggerty Insurance, and Carolina’s Finest Detail. It was great working with the Waxhaw Police Foundation and we are looking forward to another joint event in September.”
