The Charlotte-area foot print of the Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation got even bigger last week when the company celebrated the grand opening of its latest location with a ribbon cutting with the Union County Chamber of Commerce.

Several dozen people, including chamber representatives, Fairway Independent Mortgage employees, local business persons and Weddington Mayor Bill Deter celebrated before the ribbon cutting with a brunch buffet at the company’s location at 13700 Providence Road, Suite 120, in Weddington.

Whether a person is looking to buy, build or refinance a home, Fairway’s experienced mortgage professionals are available at the new location. Fairway Independent Mortgage offers a variety of loan options that can help one achieve homeownership with speed and service. Fairway’s mortgage professionals are dedicated professionals who will find the right loan with great rates, terms and costs.

Fairway Independent Mortgage Weddington branch manager Rick Melville said locating a branch in the Tri-W area is a perfect fit for the fast growing company. The company, which was started 20 years ago in Madison, Wisconsin and now has branches across the country with around 5,500 employees, had just four people in the Charlotte area when Melville joined the company nine years ago.

“This is Fairway’s 14th office in the Charlotte metro area,” Melville said. “I have been with Fairway for nine years now and we keep growing every year. It seems like we are doing a lot of things right and that way we get to grow and help people out. We have around 195 employees now in the Charlotte metropolitan area. Our first office was a tiny one in south Charlotte when we started nine years ago.

“This is the first one in the Waxhaw-Weddington area. Union County is a fantastic place to meet great people and help people with mortgages. It’s a nice place to expand.”

The new office in Weddington currently has 11 employees.

“We have room for more,” Melville said.
