WAXHAW, NC – Saturday was filled with exciting events across the Marvin community as residents gathered for the inaugural Marvin Day celebration. The celebration featured events for the whole family ranging from nature and art tours to concerts and a petting zoo, culminating in a fireworks show at the end of the night.

The day began with a health fair and blood drive followed by a greenway 5K and family fun run. Vendors and informational booths were there to entertain those who weren’t running. Inflatables and a firetruck were on scene to entertain the younger guests as well. An open house with a complimentary breakfast was held at the Firethorne Country Club pool at 9:30 a.m. prior to events at Marvin Efird Park. Park events continued until 3:00 p.m. and featured several nature tours, art tours, a petting zoo with pony rides, raptor center displays, and a disc golf clinic.

An equine showcase at Cedarhill Farm followed the park events. Afterwards, crowds moved to Marvin Ridge High School to end the night with a concert from Dustin & Ryleigh and Ryan Perry and an awesome fireworks show.
