‘Tis the season and the Millbridge neighborhood in Waxhaw certainly knows how to do it up right! For the 8th year in a row, they’ll be hosting their annual Light Up Millbridge event, bringing together the entire community for festive holiday fun. Originally scheduled for Saturday, December 8th, it was postponed due to inclement weather, and rescheduled for this coming Sunday, the 16th.

On this night each year, Millbridge offers a myriad of entertainment for the whole family. All services are offered for free to Millbridge residents, as well as anyone else in the area that wishes to join. With over 3,500 luminaries lit throughout the community and all along the Millbridge trails, attendees look forward to taking it all in via horse-drawn carriage rides!
“I think the luminaries are beautiful,” recalls Millbridge resident Jen Farrell, who attended last year’s event. “I’ve really never seen anything like that.”
The Clubhouse and front lawn are adorned with twinkling lights, plus a huge, decorated tree. With multiple bonfires as an ode to the classic, yuletide log, attendees can roast marshmallows for s’mores to pair perfectly with a nice cup of hot chocolate from the hot cocoa bar. And if that isn’t enough to keep the little ones energized, they can get crafty at the cookie decorating table, all while donning free Santa hats.
Refreshments and Christmas lights aside, Light Up Millbridge will also showcase live holiday music, and of course, pictures with Santa himself! The community spares no expense in making a beautiful backdrop for the crown jewel of family pictures, enabling holiday cards for the ages!
“The best part of this event is seeing all the pictures and fun that everybody has,” says The Millbridge Team. “It’s a great time for people to get photos with their kids, and we just really enjoy hosting the entire community.”
