WAXHAW, NC – On October 14, the Waxhaw Police Foundation (WPF) will host its First Annual Waxhaw Police Foundation Golf Tournament at Stonebridge Golf Course in Monroe, NC.  This event will start with check-in at 11:30 AM and a shotgun start at 1:00 pm.  Sign up for golfers and foursomes is going on now, and there are still sponsorship opportunities for corporations.  This event was organized to help the team at the Waxhaw Police Department, and the goal is to raise $20,000.  Sign up or donate today at

There will be many ways throughout the day to contribute to the Tournament goal.  There will be a huge raffle with tickets going for $5 each and prizes donated by sponsors including golf irons, a putting green game, and much more!  McLaren of Charlotte will be on site with vehicles and other goodies.  There will also be a wrap-up event after the tournament to present awards to the top three teams and raffle prizes.  Each golfer who plays will receive a box lunch with water or soda as well as a gift bag including a Waxhaw Police branded golf ball.

The Waxhaw Police Department plans to use the funds raised to purchase a side-by-side vehicle.  What might look to most like a tricked-out golf cart, the vehicle will be outfitted for various police needs and will be crucial in continuing to serve Waxhaw and its community.  The Waxhaw Police Foundation fully supports the Waxhaw Police Department’s mission of “Collaborating with the community to prevent crime, promote safety, and enhance the quality of life for our residents, workers, and visitors.”

“We’re looking for people to come out, have a good time, and support the police department,” shares Candace DeFinis, President of the Board of the Waxhaw Police Foundation.  “Can’t wait to see everyone on the golf course!”  Make sure to reserve your golf spot or sponsor a hole today at
