WAXHAW, NC – The Town of Waxhaw hosted Fright Night on Oct. 29 in Downtown Waxhaw and drew more than 4,000 attendees. Families donned their Halloween costumes and enjoyed the spooky festivities!
Kids trick-or-treated at more than 40 downtown businesses during the event, many with themed costumes and decorations. The event featured a costume contest, selfie stations, crafts, and a movie under the water tank.
“We love hosting Fright Night in Downtown Waxhaw! The costumes and downtown decorations get better each year. It’s such a fun family event that brings our community together in the heart of our town,” said Parks & Recreation Director Dena Sabinske.
In addition to the family-friendly activities, the downtown businesses hosted a costume contest. Each year the business that wins the contest receives bragging rights and the coveted pumpkin trophy. This year’s winner, for the fourth year in a row, was Cork & Ale, with a Haunted Hall of Fame theme. Bean & Belle Art Studio came in a close second with their Beetlejuice themed costumes and interior. Nicole Malara Realty came in third with an interactive photo booth featuring an animatronic clown!
The Town of Waxhaw’s Parks and Recreation Department and Downtown Department have lots of fun events scheduled for this holiday season! For more information about this event or other upcoming Waxhaw events, visit www.waxhaw.com/events.
