Havilah Dance Company is proud of its roots. Founded in 2010 by Brooke Hardiman, her sister Brittany Vachon, and mom Gail Dawkins, the company is the collaborative effort of the three women and their vast experience in the world of dance. With a staff of top-rate teachers holding a combined 75 years of dancing experience, students and their families can rest assured that they are receiving a world-renowned education.
The spark that ignited the dream of establishing Havilah occurred while Brooke was participating in an internship at an orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya through a ministry program with Choose to Invest. Seeing the children there, dancing with such joy even when faced with poverty, inspired Brooke to bring that elation and creative expression home to America.
Havilah Dance Company offers students instruction in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, and hip-hop, and more. Classes are offered from beginner to specialty and advanced classes. Company dancers participate in dedicated advanced classes for 8-16 hours a week and also compete in local and regional competitions.
Instructors at Havilah Dance Company are highly trained but also family-oriented. Dancers are welcomed into the Havilah family and the teachers encourage fun bonding activities in addition to dance classes, as well as a bible study once per month for students in middle school and above.
Havilah’s boutique atmosphere allows for schedules to be customized to build upon each student’s strengths and encourage development in all areas of dance. The company’s goal is to have each dancer grow individually and as a team.
Havilah dancers have won “Best of the Best” in competition for the highest-scoring routine at their national competition for the past four years in a row. They have won the Weisbrod Cup, a coveted award in dance competition circles, as well.
Havilah Dance Company provides students with a happy, healthy, nurturing atmosphere with plenty of individual and group training for all student levels. The teachers are highly trained and provide top-notch instruction in a nurturing environment. The staff and students grow together as a family and support each other in all endeavors.
