
UNION COUNTY, NC – Easter 2021 will be observed on Sunday, April 4. While 2021 won’t look like 2020 or 2019, there are still a lot of fun activities for the family in our area.  Events are not limited to Easter day but will take place the weeks before and after the holiday.  Please remember to wear a mask and respect the workers and event hosts. Their dedication to making our hometown fun and festive is truly appreciated by all.

March 27 – Family GPS Egg Hunt – Come join us in the 5th Annual Family GPS Egg Hunt! Families will use a GPS device and receive coordinates to various egg locations around the park (Difficulty Level – Beginner). This is a great outdoor family event that promotes a healthy lifestyle. Enjoy a relaxing stroll or compete for prizes! Everyone will get candy! Please register using one family member — $5 per family.
March 28 – Rotten Egg Challenge – Come join us for the 1st Annual Rotten Egg Challenge! Teams will use a GPS device and receive coordinates to various egg locations around the park. We recommended being at least 16 years old (Difficulty Level – Advanced, around 3 miles of hiking). This is a great outdoor event that promotes a healthy lifestyle. Enjoy a tedious hike or compete for prizes! Please register using one team member — $10 per team.
Town of Weddington – Town Hall, Weddington, NC
March 27 – Bunny Hop – Get your tickets for the first-ever Bunny Hop! Saturday, March 27 (rain date March 28) from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Join Union County Macaroni Kids on the lawn of Weddington Town Hall for a spring celebration with an egg hunt, the Easter Bunny, and much more. City of Monroe – Parks Williams Athletic Complex, Monroe, NCÂ
March 27 – Easter Eggstravaganza – Come join the Egg Dash with the City of Monroe at the Parks Williams Athletic Complex (Ashton Ave, Monroe, NC 28110). Age Categories: 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. Spots are limited and masks are required for ages 5 and up. Registration is required at (704) 282-4695.

Town of Matthews – Matthews, NC
March 20 – April 5 – The Great Easter Eggspedition – Search for Golden Easter Eggs throughout the Town of Matthews.  Each Saturday (March 20th, March 27th, and April 3rd) there will be four new clues and four eggs hidden. Find clues on the Town of Matthews Park & Rec Facebook page!  Find a golden egg and bring it to the Matthews Community Center to redeem for an Eggspedition Grand Prize.  One golden egg per family.
Rea Farms – Sandy Rock Place, Charlotte, NC
March 27  – Where my Peeps at? – Instead of a free-for-all egg hunt, this year the event includes a “peep hunt” with a prize at completion, photos with the Easter Bunny, and a swag bag. The event will take place from 10:30 am – 1:00 pm. The swag bag includes popcorn, two bottles of water, and candy. The cost is $20 for your reserved spot; it includes all of the above and can include up to 2 families or 8 people. Reservations are required.
Hodges Family Farm and Pumpkin Patch – Rocky River Rd, Charlotte, NC
Celebrate Easter the “old fashioned way” with egg hunts, yard games, bunny snuggles, and more. Children will hunt for sealed plastic eggs within the hunt area for each age group. After the hunt, they exchange the plastic eggs for a prize bag containing age-appropriate toys. If parents permit, then they will be given a piece of candy.
