Increased Trash and Yard Debris in Waxhaw

WAXHAW, NC – In recent weeks, Waxhaw’s Public Services staff has put additional trash cans downtown for residents to use. Although staff has made arrangements to accommodate more trash, we have noticed that many of the trash cans are overflowing. Because of this, trash has been thrown on the overhead bridge, around the sidewalks, and in the street. If you have trash and see the cans are full, please help us keep downtown clean. Take the trash home to throw out or hold onto it until you pass by an empty trash can.

We encourage you to support our downtown businesses and get takeout, but please also keep I mind that both indoor and outdoor dining at establishments is prohibited, which includes sitting on patios or other outdoor seating. Please help us to keep Downtown Waxhaw clean and vibrant, and to keep each other safe.

With the stay at home order is in place, we’ve also noticed an increase in the amount of yard debris. This increase has caused our trash and yard debris service provider, Waste Pro to fall behind of their routine pick-up schedule. Please be patient, they will complete the yard debris pick up. They recently acquired several new trucks and should be caught up within the next week. If you have any questions about yard debris or residential trash pick-up, please call Waste Pro (980) 255-3800.
