From ghostly ghouls to pretty princesses, Masquerade Designs has got you covered- literally!

Miss Gina Shinn, has always been drawn to things creative, but was surprised to have that part of her life play out in such an unique way when she began painting faces.



Shinn’s foray into the art of bringing beauty and happiness to people’s cheeks began when she was asked to volunteer her talents as a painter for a school fundraiser. The cause- an effort to help cover medical expenses of a child who had suffered a dog attack- was especially close to her heart, given her primary career in Pediatric Nursing. Happy to lend her skills to the event, she never expected it to springboard her into the business of party entertainment; however, after seeing her work, she was quickly approached by other organizations.

A few gigs later, Shinn was catapulted into face painting fame, and decided the next natural step was to open her company, Masquerade Designs. Business took off in a hurry, and she has never looked back!

Masquerade Designs, located in Waxhaw, offers a variety of party and entertainment options to Charlotte locals. They are adept at serving a variety of clients in a variety of situations, and pride themselves on customer service for birthday parties, grand openings, fundraisers, bar mitzvahs, set ups for restaurants, and private parties/events.

Aside from a plethora of face painting options, which are a stand-out on their own, the company now provides clients with a choice of other party-perfect professionals.

Masquerade Designs is excited to count a balloon artists, a magician, and costumed character choices among its offerings. Whether it be a superhero, or a princess, or anything in between, Miss Gina is the lady to help you turn your party into a bash!

Strict hygienic standards, such as not painting the face of an ill person or one with open skin, are strictly followed by Masquerade Design employees. The face paint used in guaranteed to be professional grade, hypoallergenic, non-toxic, non-staining, and easy off, and monthly training programs are held for their artists to be sure they are up to date of new techniques as well as following safe practices. These programs have recently been opened to the public, for those who would like to learn to the art of face paint.
