I sat down with Movement Bank’s Michael Curtis recently and we recorded an interview on the current state of mortgages which can be seen on my Facebook Business Page ( @JimmyGrapponeRealtor) or my YouTube page (Search: Jimmy Grappone YouTube).

This is what Michael had to say off camera.

From a mortgage standpoint, markets continue to improve and favor home buyers and sellers.

The Federal Reserve cut rates by a quarter of a point at their last meeting and overall market performance continues to drive interest rates down.

The 10-Year Treasury has just hit a three year low which is an important indicator for home buyers and sellers on where interest rates are at for mortgage programs.

This makes over 1.5 million current homeowners eligible for a refinance, potentially saving current homeowners hundreds of dollars on their monthly payments and thousands over the life of the loan.

For home buyers with down payment concerns, current Conventional, USDA, FHA, and VA loan programs may allow up to 100% financing depending on the program, minimum down payment of as little as 3%, or even overlaying an assistance program with the selected product to cover any down payment requirements.

These are options available for both first time buyers and for people who may be buying again.

In conclusion, the current market environment is uniquely primed for both buyers and sellers to find solutions to their real estate financing needs.
