On Wednesday, March 28, 2018, the Movement Foundation presented Project2Heal, a local Waxhaw non-profit, with a donation of $10,000. Movement Mortgage created the Movement Foundation in 2012 to give back by reinvesting over $25.8 million into communities, causes, and ventures with the intention to create lasting changes. Every month, the Movement Foundation awards donations to employee nominated non-profits who are doing good work in their communities. Project2Heal was nominated by Jill Halligan, a Mortgage Loan Office with Movement Mortgage, for the Movement 10k program.
Halligan is a former Project2Heal volunteer and still attends events and is involved with the charity. She created a short video that described how Project2Heal helps veterans and children with special needs by providing puppies to service organization around the country. The video was chosen by a committee of Movement Mortgage employees to receive the donation. Project2Heal, located in Waxhaw, NC, is one of the most respected Labrador Retriever Breeders in North Carolina and their puppy training begins when they are only a few days old. At 8 weeks, the puppies are sent to various training programs or sold as pets to raise money to support the organization.
Charlie and Sandy Petrizzo (co-founders of Project2Heal) joined Jill Halligan, Geoff Brown (Movement Mortgage Market Leader), Movement Mortgage Realtor Partners, and over 100 of Movement Mortgage’s staff for the check presentation. Project2Heal brought eight puppies to the ceremony as well.
