On Tuesday, August 7th, 2018, the Waxhaw Police Department and local neighborhoods came together to celebrate National Night Out. Designed to help raise awareness about police programs in communities, such as drug prevention, town watch, neighborhood watch, and anti-crime efforts, the events are organized by block watches, non-profit organizations, companies, and police departments. Officer Victor Montalvo and Officer Kevin Gasser helped organize this year’s police caravan and community visits. There were many other community sponsors participating as well. Fab Fours, a steel bumper and accessory manufacturer from Lancaster, SC, brought three of their concept vehicles and were happy to be asked to participate in this year’s National Night Out. Ashley, a Union EMS Paramedic, has been participating in National Night Out for the last four years and is happy to support her fellow emergency services. Next year’s National Night Out will be held on August 9, 2019.
