The new 701 Main Restaurant has opened its doors in Waxhaw.
Fittingly named for their downtown street address, 701 Main Restaurant and Bar is Waxhaw’s newest resident, officially opening their doors on November 10. While Owner Tom Hantzos is originally from Greece, he’s been living in the Charlotte area for the last 40 years, so he’s no stranger to the market.
And when a friend of his gave him a tour of what is now 701 Main, he fell in love with both the space and Waxhaw itself. A family-friendly restaurant, 701 Main specializes in American food with Greek influences. Their biggest seller is the 701 Main Burger, featuring 8 ounces of Angus beef blend of chuck brisket and short rib topped with a cheese of choice.
Additionally, their filets and lobster are popular, as are their assortment of pasta dishes. Most notably, the baked spaghetti is a step out of the box as it’s uniquely prepared in a mozzarella crust.
They offer daily specials from entrees to sandwiches to soups, and have just started serving up the customer favorite French onion soup daily. A particular perk for the local community from this new business is its hours, which operate every single day serving up breakfast on the weekends and slightly extended hours [for Waxhaw] into the evening.
As a new restaurant, they’re continuing to work out the kinks and focusing principally on educating the staff on their food so they can speak more knowledgeably about it to provide the utmost service to their customers.
“We’re always striving to please the customers first!” says Hantzos.
