
MINERAL SPRINGS, NC – Textile manufacturer Parkdale Mills joined the Town of Mineral Springs and the Mineral Springs Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department to distribute 5000 free masks on Saturday in a drive-through I Wear I Care event.

Five masks were handed out per car quickly and in a socially distanced fashion. Guests also had the opportunity to apply for open positions at Parkdale Mills’ Mineral Springs location by way of a drive-through job fair. Parkdale Mills CEO Andy Warlick said that the campaign was important to the company and said that the company wants to create positive reinforcement in the community to help get past this pandemic. Rick Becker, mayor of the town of Mineral Springs, said that working together to protect everyone is the best way to slow the pandemic and recover our economy.


Parkdale Mills was established in 1916 in Gastonia, NC. The company employs more than 3000 people in the United States, Mexico, Central America, Switzerland, and Columbia. The safety products division of Parkdale Mills is an initiative that grew out of a critical need for PPE as the COVID-19 pandemic began to take afoot. Since the start of that initiative, Parkdale Mills has manufactured over 100 million masks.
