The South Charlotte Dog Rescue (SCDR) is releasing a fundraising 2020 calendar featuring their adopted and adoptable dogs and the Waxhaw Police Department Officers. The idea for the calendar was suggested by Waxhaw PD Officer Vic Montalvo during the SCDR and Waxhaw PD puppy litter photo shoot. In fact, many of the officers signed up for their featured month that day! All that was left was to pick out the dogs to pose with them.
Available for $20 each, every dollar raised through the calendar will be used for SCDR’s community spay and neuter efforts throughout the year. You can purchase the calendar directly through SCDR at their weekend events or anytime at Mary O’Neill’s in Waxhaw. SCDR is so thankful for the support of the community and have said that these calendars are already flying off the shelves!
The calendar was put together by SCDR, Deborah Splawn Photography, and Elite Design. Danielle Spuler, President of the Board of Directors of SCDR, explains, “We are very grateful to both Deborah Splawn Photography and Elite Design in Waxhaw for their contributions to make this calendar so visually appealing and special! We wouldn’t have even had the idea for the calendar without our friends at the Waxhaw PD. We appreciate them very much for lending us their time and images to make our first annual rescue calendar so amazing!”
While most of the dogs in the calendar have already found their forever homes through SCDR, November’s dog, Angelina, is still up for adoption. Featured with Officer Whaley, Angelina is a special needs pup who will need some extra attention. When SCDR rescued her, Angelina had an injury on her front foot and she eventually had to have the foot amputated. However, with the love and attention from the foster families at SCDR, she has made a tremendous recovery and is a happy, healthy little girl who is ready to find her “fur”ever family.
Based on the initial feedback and sales, South Charlotte Dog Rescue is planning on continuing this calendar fundraiser next year. So, make sure you support them in 2020 with the purchase of a calendar and maybe a new furry friend for your family.
