Queens South Bar and Grill is a family loved and run new business in Waxhaw, NC.  Located next to the Food Lion in the Old Hickory Shopping Center, Queens South is mixing Queens New York favorites with classic southern foods in to a family friendly, comfort food menu.  Including NY’s Finest Burger featuring an 8 oz Pat LaFrieda Short rib blend beef burger, NY Style Pizza, Fried Pickles, NY “Dirty Water” Sabrett’s Hot Dogs, Queen South Jumbo Wings, Pimento Grilled Cheese sandwich, and much more, Queens South is perfect for a sit down dinner or a quick bite at the full service bar.

Owned by Donna and Charles Zeilfelder, their cousins Jamie and Angelo Bartolotta, and Nancy and Tom Evans, Charles’s sister and her husband, the family has all moved to Waxhaw from New York over the past few years.  Donna and Charles Zeilfelder have been in the restaurant business for a long time and had wanted to open their own restaurant in NY but they were never able to make it work.  After they had moved to Waxhaw, their extended family joined in and they were finally able to find a spot in Waxhaw that would be an ideal location.  After about three and a half months of renovation and preparation, Queens South opened to family and friends on November 5th and opened to the public on November 6th.  More celebrations soon followed with a Union County Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on November 19th and an official grand opening on December 5th, 2018.

Now they are settling in and are getting ready to host a Super Bowl event with a special in house menu and specials and a Super Bowl Catering option with delivery, if you want to have a party at your house with no hassle.  After the Super Bowl party, they will begin getting ready for March Madness with all the College Basketball games and all the upcoming UFC fights on 10 TVs throughout the restaurant.  The bar at Queens South features 16 draft beers, plenty of bottled beer, and a full liquor bar.  They also have begun expanding their menu with plans to expand the menu in the works.  Currently, they are offering a Saturday Special featuring a 12 oz. Prime Rib with mashed potatoes and the featured vegetable.

Queens South also offers live music on the weekends, karaoke, and trivia nights, including upcoming trivia games about “Friends” and “The Office”.  They are active on Facebook (@QueensSouthWaxhaw) and Instagram (@QueensSouth) where they post about musicians, specials, events, and other things.

Queens South is open every day at 11 am for lunch.  The full menu is available at lunch time and they are dedicated to making sure that you can come in and enjoy your meal within your lunch break.  They are open until 12 am on weekdays and 2 am on the weekends.  The kitchen stays open until 1am on the weekends so it’s a great place for a late night date.
