Dr. Leon Banchik DMD and Dr. Olya Banchik DDS just opened their doors at Reafield Dental in Waxhaw, NC. Recently relocated from Nevada, they are excited to make their home with their three children in Waxhaw, as well as continue their over 15 years of practice in dentistry. Offering a variety of services including family and cosmetic dentistry, veneers, smile makeovers, dental implants, Invisalign and clear retainer teeth alignment, sleep apnea help, emergency appointments, and much more, the Banchik’s are also skilled in helping people overcome their fear of dentists without sedatives. They will be offering a Grand Opening special of a free teeth whitening with a new patient exam.
Dr. Leon Banchik DMD attended the Boston University School of Dental Medicine while Dr. Olya Banchik DDS attended the New York University School of Dentistry. They both attended an advanced training residency at the University of Nevada School of Medicine General Practice Residency, a hospital based one year training that included treating patients with complex medical conditions, advanced training in surgical procedures, sedation, and implants.
The Banchik’s have started and maintained a foundation, Smiles for Survivors, which they plan to continue here in NC. Providing free dentistry to breast cancer patients and survivors, they have donated over $120,000 in services since 2007. This non-profit works with other local dentists and does not accept donations, instead, it is a way for them to personally give back. Dr. Olya Banchik’s mom is a breast cancer survivor and she saw firsthand the detrimental effect that chemotherapy can have on teeth, gums, bones, and overall oral health. If you know of somebody to nominate for the foundation to help, or if you are a dentist who would like to join them, please email Welcome@reafielddental.com or call the office directly.
This all leads back to the Banchik’s belief that their practice is part of their family. They are hear for you including emergency work. If they get a call about a broken tooth, they will be here to help. Since they live right next to office, so they can come in quickly if needed. The building the practice is located in is brand new and is very modern with digital equipment. They have a cone beam 3D CT scanner that allows them to see more anatomy than traditional x-ray methods while using less radiation. Another benefit of the scanner is that it can help view the airways to help screen for sleep apnea. The practice additionally has a laser that helps them do certain restorations, heal canker sores and split lips, as well as help people with gummy smiles. They have been using this technique for several years and have developed a level of expertise that is exceptional. Furthermore, they can offer same day tooth replacements in certain cases. Valerye Steinhauser, the Patient Care Specialist, is also part of the Reafield Dental family and is helping them settle into their new location that features five treatment rooms and a “green” paperless office.
Reafield Dental is here to take care of the community and they want everyone to feel comfortable. This includes working with patients who fear dentists. Dr. Leon and Dr. Olya Banchik will both take the time to talk to you, figure out your fears, and work together with you to find out a solution that will work for you. And they love to educate their patients to help you choose the best option for you.
