WAXHAW, NC – From December 13 through December 18, Santa hopped on a Waxhaw Volunteer Fire Department engine and drove through local neighborhoods.  Due to Santa’s hectic December schedule, Santa did not stop but did wave and shout “Merry Christmas!” and “Ho Ho Ho!”  Starting at the Waxhaw VFD on Waxhaw Parkway Road at 6:30 pm each night, Santa and his entourage followed a different route every night in order to visit as many communities and children as possible.

This year, Santa and Mrs. Claus were portrayed by Billy and Myra Sellers.  Billy Sellers is Waxhaw’s Parks & Facilities Supervisor/Safety Coordinator and grew out his beard for these holiday events!  His elves were played by Nikki Hoffman and Ava Oliver, both from Waxhaw.  Santa was driven by a different Waxhaw VFD member each night and was accompanied by vehicles from Waxhaw Volunteer Fire Department, Town of Waxhaw Parks & Rec, Waxhaw Coffee Cruisers, Carolina CRUISE4KIDS, and Carolina Cruzin4Jeeps.  Donna Kennelly, Waxhaw VFD Community Board member, recruited the various groups to ride along with Santa to the delight of all.  Please enjoy more pictures below.
