The South Charlotte Dog Rescue (SCDR) named their latest litter after the some of the Officers of the Waxhaw Police Department. Danielle Spuler, SCDR President, and Amy Merrill, SCDR Board of Directors, recently met with the officers at the Waxhaw Police Station to introduce them to their name sakes. Officer Kevin Gasser, K9 Officer Billy Mills, Animal Control Officer Bobby West, and Officer Vic Montalvo were honored with puppies named after them. Spuler explains, “We at SCDR are so thankful for the amazing group of officers we have here in Waxhaw! They are always supportive of the work we do in the community and always available to help whenever we need them. Amy and I were meeting with Officer Vic as we received some donations that he arranged and, in the course of our conversation, we had the idea to honor our Waxhaw PD friends by naming our next litter of puppies after the guys we work with most frequently. Officers Bobby, Kevin, Vic and Billy we appreciate you and all you do for our community!”

“Mama Trixie came to us from the Union County Animal Shelter, where she had been dropped off by her owner with her litter of two week old babies. It was urgent that they be moved into a foster home to protect them from germs and to reduce mama’s stress so that she could care for her babies. We are so thankful to our foster Erika for being willing to take them immediately into her home and provide them with the love and care they so desperately needed!”

“We had so much fun with our PD photoshoot that we’ve decided to put together a calendar featuring SCDR pups and Waxhaw PD officers! Be on the lookout for SCDR 2020 calendars coming soon! Waxhaw PD officers will also be joining us on September 30, 2019 at Firethorne Country Club for our Third annual Golf Classic. Come out and golf with Waxhaw’s finest while we raise funds to support the rescue animals in our community. All proceeds will go directly to the SCDR Emergency Medical Fund which provides spay/neuter services in the community, heartworm treatment, and critical care/surgery for injured dogs that come into rescue. Visit our website at www.southcharlottedogrescue.com for registration or sponsorship opportunities!”

All of the puppies from this litter are ready for adoption now. Please contact SCDR for an application.
