Owner Boran Pan opened his first SmartPhone City location in Matthews in September 2015. He instantly saw the demand and recalls, “Several of our customers were from Waxhaw, and they kept saying, ‘there’s nothing [like this] there and you should open there!’” Pan took those words to heart, along with the obvious growth in the area and target demographics, when he opened the Waxhaw location back in April.

While they take appointments, 95 percent of their business comes from walk-ins. They offer free diagnostics and typical phone repairs take approximately 20 minutes. In a side-by-side price comparison to repairs from The Apple Store and/or Best Buy, both SmartPhone City’s prices and turnaround time are significantly less. And while SmartPhone City doesn’t stock Macbook parts, they’ll order what’s required, then do the repair the day they arrive, so you’re not forced to surrender your device for a mandatory amount of time while it waits in queue. Furthermore, they offer a lifetime warranty on their parts and labor!
SmartPhone City also offers a trade-in program, where they will buy broken phones in exchange for a refurbished one. And while they’re technically not a retailer, they will occasionally have new phones in stock for purchase, but routinely supply new accessories such as screen protectors and charging cords.
