WAXHAW, NC – Danielle Maple has grown up in the beauty industry. A bubbly and vivacious 22-year-old, she started as a 15-year-old apprentice to Jennifer Mosblech, owner of the luxurious Moss & Black Salon and Spa. Danielle started with Jennifer at her previous salon, beginning with the basics like shampooing and blowdrying hair. She participated in dual enrollment in high school and beauty school during her junior and senior years, graduating both high school and beauty school at the age of 18. She then attended the prestigious Walter Bicket Cosmetic Arts and Science Academy where she honed her craft. Ms. Maple’s first love is her role as a make-up artist, where she is a natural talent having experimented with creative and innovative styles from natural to glamorous looks since her teenage years.
Danielle’s passion is making her clients look and feel their best. “When you look good on the outside, you feel good on the inside,” Ms. Maple remarked. With her vast array of talents, Danielle shines as a junior hairdresser and makeup artist at Moss & Black Salon and Spa. As a make-up artist, Danielle mainly works with special occasions like proms and weddings but is also available year-round for clients that want a soft natural look or an upscale glamour experience. Danielle has a special place in her heart for make-up, as that is where her dream of working in the hair and beauty business began.
As a Junior Hairdresser, Danielle excels in blonding treatments and is transformative in her work with color, cut, extensions, keratin treatments, and customized styling and blow-outs. She keeps up on the latest trends via social media influencers and, as part of the Moss & Black high standards for excellence, she continues to improve her skillset with advanced classes in various hair and make-up techniques such as coloring, west extensions, color correction, color melting, and balayage.
Ms. Maple would like to share a few beauty tips with the Tri W News audience. If you have fine or limp hair, products are your best friend. Make use of volumizing shampoos and conditioners (such items can be found at Moss & Black in their exclusive French line of hair products, Kerastase), and blow-dry your hair upside down from root to tip, then flip and continue to smooth as you dry. In terms of makeup, Danielle believes that less is more. If you would like a more natural look, try a dewy foundation for dry skin or a matte foundation for oily skin.
Danielle loves working with people, and one of her favorite moments from working at Moss & Black Salon and Spa is when a new client arrived who was very nervous about getting her hair done. She was a blonde, which Danielle specializes in. Danielle was able to answer all of her questions and concerns with warmth and kindness and instantly put the woman at ease. The client left her the sweetest review, raving about how amazing her new style was.
