The Athletic Barn is known all over Union County for its excellent clinics, camps, and private instruction designed to get baseball and softball players ready for the field.  Mike Polito, owner of the Athletic Barn, opened the facility in the summer of 2013.  They offer professional instruction throughout their facility including: nine indoor cages, portable pitching mounds, a weight room facility, as well as three outdoor turf areas with stadium lights.  Their professional instructors include Aaron Bray, who played for UNC Charlotte and the Houston Astros, and BJ Hagen, who was signed as a free agent by the Houston Astros.  Bray, Hagen, and others teach a variety of group clinics and camps for all ages as well as private instruction.  The Athletic Barn works closely with the Carolina Vipers, a non-profit travel baseball organization, and is a showcase affiliate of Five Star Baseball and the Mission Vipers Youth league.

Brad Hoover, a former Carolina Panthers player, will be coaching a limited time clinic at the Athletic Barn for “Dynamic Speed, Agility, & Quickness”.  This clinic is offered every Monday and Wednesday from March 5th until April 11th  in two sessions from 5:30 to 7 pm and 7:30 to 9pm with a Sunday Clinic from March 11th to April 22nd from 5 to 6:30 pm.  This clinic is not specific to baseball or softball players, but is designed for all athletes.  The Dynamic Speed, Agility, & Quickness Clinic will help give attendees an edge over the competition by using ladders, medicine balls, and more.

The Athletic Barn has a weight area.

Other camps and clinics include: Friday Night Tune Up with Hack Attack, Pitching 101 with BJ Hagen, Strength and Conditioning with Aaron Bray, Catching Clinic with Tyler Bice, and 3 day camps during Spring Break and all summer long.  All of the clinics and camps available at the Athletic Barn are designed to help athletes gain a competitive edge, increase overall performance, and develop a foundation to become a better athlete.

Outdoor practice fields are used for agility training as well as batting practice.

Their programs and instruction are available for children ages 6 through college.  They are very proud that many of the high school players receive athletic college scholarships.  The Athletic Barn is available to rent for corporate events, birthday parties, travel teams, and also is home to a Pro Shop.
